2Hold Opening Meeting

Ensure that the following topics are covered:

  • Explain the audit process
  • Explain why auditing is an essential part of improvement
  • Explain who the key participants participants are
  • Confirm schedule and adapt to any required changes
  • Reassure that the audit process is looking for conformity and good practice and not nonconformity – you are not trying to catch them out

3Put on PPE and meet escort as required

Due: after step 2

Importance: Optional

Some sites for security or safety reasons will require an escort and PPE. Notify the escort of parts of the facility you are intending to visit and identify any issues before commencing audit.

4Conduct Audit and take notes

5Hold closing Meeting and discuss findings
